My Jiffy Lube
While at AKQA, I led technology for the Jiffy Lube account. We were tasked with solving major business challenges facing Jiffy Lube due to industry disruptors, declines in vehicle ownership, and major improvements to vehicle performance & reliability.
Our work began with an audit and research into Jiffy Lube’s offerings, and resulted in key opportunities for improvement across their entire business. This research and strategy grew into a 3 year digital vision and the creation of the My Jiffy Lube mobile app.
Digital Vision
The vision for Jiffy Lube was to increase revenues through critical service improvements and by positioning Jiffy Lube as the most progressive and convenient automotive maintenance brand in the US market. We would do this primarily by improving their digital maturity across marketing, corporate IT, and franchisee systems.
As a part of this initiative, I led the digital maturity analysis, ecosystem audit, and high-level concept ideation for delivering on the vision. We conducted numerous customer and stakeholder interviews across all areas of the business, ensuring alignment with critical goals and KPIs across departments.
Mobile Design & Development
After developing the vision, I then led a team to redesign Jiffy Lube’s mobile consumer application, My Jiffy Lube. Our team designed the full app UX and delivered a coded UI component library for Salesforce engineers to build the final production apps on the Salesforce Lightning platform.
Alongside the app build, I also worked closely with Jiffy Lube’s corporate data, ad tech, and information technology teams to design a technical architecture and transition plan which could support critical features on the product roadmap. Together, we co-developed a comprehensive data strategy and requirements for all corporate and franchisee IT systems to manage platform data including user profile information, vehicle maintenance and sales history, local promotional deals, and more.
