Small Footprint Platform (2009)
What it Was
The "Small Footprint Platform", was designed to not only use very few server resources, but also to create an agile and lightweight technology stack which would allow for rapid development and deployment of a wide variety of web sites.
What I Did
As a member of the Architecture team, I helped evaluate different systems and then lead the design and development for much of the platform's software architecture.
I focused primarily on CMS integration, logging strategies, and developing and organizing shared libraries. I also documented much of the front-end development strategy.
Why You Should Care
This was the first project in the organization which ran on a LAMP stack. It was a very critical project with many eyes on it. With the intention of migrating most sites in the organization to this platform, it was essential that a solid foundation be developed.
