What it Was
The Gift Finder application suggested gifts based upon personal information entered about the person for whom you were shopping. If the person had a facebook account, you could also prepopulate the application with their data.
We also developed a "Secret Santa" Facebook application which tied into the Gift Finder, but it never saw the light of day.
What I Did
I worked on the application architecture for both applications, and floated between the two, doing everything from JavaScript, to database design, to caching strategy, to server configuration and administration.
I was also heavily involved in prototyping core functionality with Amazon & Facebook APIs.
Why You Should Care
I helped introduce the Zend framework to the technology team at HUGE and assisted the team in developing and architecting two large-scale applications in a very short timeline of two months, successfully launching (what I have been told was) MasterCard's largest online marketing campaign ever.
